Annual Donation
Cash gifts to our annual appeal are the
simplest, most direct means of support for
the Foundation. The donor is entitled to
an income tax deduction of the entire
amount of the gift, providing deductions
are itemized and do not exceed certain
limits. Such unrestricted gifts allow the
library to address its most pressing
needs.

Who shall speak for the
people?
who has the answers?
where is the sure
interpreter?
who knows what to say?

- Carl Sandburg
From "The People, Yes"
|

Carl Sandburg was first and foremost an
American poet; he believed not only in the
power of literature but also in the
integrity of the individual, opportunities
for all people and strong communities.
Libraries are of great importance to
individuals and they are fundamental to
strong communities. They are the keepers
of our stories and the source of
information for everyone. In an era when
education is essential, they help ensure
equality of access. The Montclair Public
Library makes books, audio-books, movies
and computers available to every member of
our community. Our library makes
information available at everyone's
fingertips either in one of our two
beautiful buildings or via the internet.
Our library also provides an exceptional
staff to keep the library vital.
Please support the Montclair
Public Library Foundation
The Montclair Public Library exists
through public funding, but it is private
donations that make us exceptional. Your
gift means that we can better serve those
who depend upon the Montclair Public
Library. Your gift means that we can
enhance our collection of materials and
continue and expand our programming.
Your gift enables us to achieve our
goal: "To enhance the quality of life in
Montclair by providing an environment
which supports and stimulates self
education, lifelong learning and
information literacy."
